Master of Advanced Studies in "European and Global Governance"

The Institute for European Global Studies offers a new Master Program of Advanced Studies in European and Global Governance. The interdisciplinary and practice-oriented program begins in autumn 2014 and can also be completed part-time. Prospective candidates can apply until June 30, 2014.

The new Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in European and Global Governance is the result of a reorganization of the former MAS in European Integration, which has been offered by the Institute for European Global Studies at Basel University for many years. The new program focuses on global research on Europe in the fields of law, economy, society and history.

The Master of Advanced Studies in "European and Global Governance" of the University of Basel is modularized and consists of five thematically independent Certificates of Advanced Studies (CAS), enabling participants to undertake the further qualification program extra-occupationally and to plan it flexibly, according to their own needs and capacities. The CAS can be studied independently from each other. They are offered for the subject areas of Multinational Cooperations, International Organizations and NGOs, Global Society and Europe 2050.

Once students have passed all five CAS as well as their final thesis, they are awarded the certificate Master of Advanced Studies of the University of Basel (60 ECTS). The courses are taught in English by excellent lecturers and experts from scientific and practical fields. Therefore, the MAS is attractive for prospective candidates from other countries as well. The program starts on September 15, 2014.

Successful applicants need to have a university degree on a Master’s level or proof of equivalent education, a Bachelor’s degree including relevant work experience for several years in politics, administration, the economic sector or with NGOs and a high command of spoken and written English.

Further information is available on the website of the Master of Advanced Studies in European and Global Governance. Prospective students are advised to contact the study program advisor at an early stage. Prospective candidates can apply until June 30, 2014.
