Christa Tobler on Brexit in the House of Lords
On February 27, 2018, the EU Committee of the British House of Lords organized a hearing on the subject of Brexit and dispute settlement. Upon the Committee’s invitation, Christa Tobler, Professor of European Law at the Institute for European Global Studies, attended the hearing as an expert.
The discussion focused on models for settling disputes in relation to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’s Brexit agreements with the European Union (EU), for example in relation to an accession agreement or future relations agreements. Some of the questions raised in this context are similar to those that arise in the negotiations between Switzerland and the EU on the so-called institutional issues (Framework Agreement).
Christa Tobler is Professor of European Law at the Institute for European Global Studies. Her research interests include the legal relations between Switzerland and the European Union as well as issues of equality before the law and discriminations.
