Philmon Ghirmai is a doctoral candidate at the Department of History at the University of Heidelberg. In his research, he focuses on transnational networks of African independence movements during the 1950s. His research interests include global and colonial history.
Since 2012, he holds a scholarship from the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation.
Dr. Isabella Löhr
Dr. Isabella Löhr works as a researcher at Centre for the History and Culture of East Central Europe at the University of Leipzig (GWZO).
Her research interests include European and global history in the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of international law and international organizations, migration, refugee and mobilty studies, history of science as well as intellectual property rights.
Yingnan Luo was a research fellow at the Institute for European Global Studies between September 2015 and October 2016. His research project was titled "The Independence Movement of the Basel Mission in the Hakka Region of China (1900-1932)".
Dr. rer. pol. Jivanta Schöttli
Dr. rer. pol. Jivanta Schöttli is lecturer in international and comparative politics at the South Asia Institute of Heidelberg University. In addition, she coordinates a DFG research project at Max Weber Institute of Sociology.
Her research interests include political theorie, the politics of India and China, international relations of South Asia as well as development and democracy.

Maciej M. Sokołowski, MLaw, ist Schweizer Bundesstipendiat. Er ist Doktorand am Institut für Rechts- und Verwaltungswissenschaften der Universität Warsaw (Polen) und Stipendiat an der Universität Gothenburg (Sweden).
