Chinese Managers Visit Basel
The Institute for European Studies recently hosted a group of managers from the Shanghai Economic Management College (SEMC). Prof. Dr. Ralph Weber welcomed the guests who are on an exchange with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.
Prof. Dr. Ralph Weber introduced the guests to the Institute's work and to its unique research foci, including the concept of "European Global Studies". Furthermore, he talked about the Institute's cooperation with Chinese universities, among them the Tsinghua School of Law in Beijing. Lastly, he introduced the managers to the Institute's courses of continuing education.
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and the Shanghai Economic Management College (SEMC) instituted their cooperation in the framework of the town twinning between Shanghai and Basel. The participants at the exchange programme first complete a course in their respective hometowns and are then introduced to the partner city, where they go on to work in local companies.
