Free guided tours at the institute's domicile, the "Sandgrube"

The Institute for European Global Studies at Open House Basel

On May 15, 2022, the "Sandgrube" opens its doors for free as part of Open House Basel. At 10 am (in German) and at 11 am (in English), Prof. Dr. Madeleine Herren-Oesch, Director of the Institute for European Global Studies, will give guided tours explaining the history of the building. The number of participants is limited to 20 persons (first come, first served). Afterwards, guided tours are offered continuously. The meeting point is the entrance gate in the direction of Messe Basel.

Open House Basel opens around 100 outstanding buildings and outdoor spaces on May 14 and 15, 2022. On both days, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., there will be guided tours through private houses and apartments, through theatres, churches, museums and schools, through offices and studios, workshops and infrastructure buildings.
