With the University of Leipzig, the Institute for European Global Studies can already list its fifth international cooperation. The recently signed agreement with the Global and European Studies Institute GESI allows students of the Master’s program in European Global Studies to spend an exchange semester in the historically important city in eastern Germany.

The University of Leipzig is one of the oldest German Universities with a continuous teaching tradition since 1409. The GESI was founded in 2008 as a part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Philosophy, aiming at teaching and research at the crossroads of several disciplines. Its research interests are similar to the ones of the Institute for European Global Studies with a focus on Europe in its global context. The GESI offers three Master’s programs: MA in European Studies, MA in Global Studies and MA in Global Studies: Peace and Security in Africa.

As from now, students of the Institute for European and Global Studies may plan their stay at the University of Leipzig. The course coordination assists in providing more information about exchange semesters.
