"Adapting the Competition Policy for the Digital Age: Assessing the EU's Approach"

Dr. Gentjan (Genti) Skara is a lecturer of EU Law and Competition Law at the Department of Law, "Bedër" University College, Albania. His fields of research include EU Law, Enlargement Policy, Competition Law and Approximation of Laws. From August to October 2023, he is a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for European Global Studies. During his stay, Genti is working on a project titled "The Enforcement of Digital Markets Act and its compliance with Competition Law". In his project, he discusses the rationale and the necessity for the regulation of the digital technology development in the EU digital market. Moreover, the project analyzes the enforcement of the Digital Markets Act and its compliance with competition law, focusing on the need for competition policy, law and enforcement in the digital sphere. His visiting fellowship is part of the thematic focus of the Katekisama program "Global Convergences: Cultures and Politics of AI in Globality Research".
