CfA: Postdoc Fellowships at the Munich Centre for Global History
The Munich Centre for Global History is advertising research fellowships for the winter term 2022/23. The fellowships have a duration of between 1 and 3 months and are targeted at postdoctoral researchers. The deadline for applications is November 30, 2021, for a stay in the winter semester 2022/2023.
During their stay, fellows will work on a research project of their own choice. While the programme is open to all topics in global history or its neighbouring fields, the Centre is particularly interested in proposals that engage with a new research focus on "global dis:connections" that has recently been established in cooperation with the Käte Hamburger Research Centre "Dis:connectivity in Processes of Globalisation" (globaldisconnect.org).
Fellows have no teaching obligation. They are expected to work on their research projects and actively engage with the scholarly community at the university and particularly at the centre. The fellowships are open to postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines. Scholars who are already advanced in their academic careers and have a strong international track record are explicitly encouraged to apply. Depending on the situation of the applicant and the character of the project, the duration of the fellowship will be between one and three months. Fellowships for the winter term 2022/23 should be taken up between mid-October 2022 and the end of February 2023.
The fellowship entails economy travel to and from Munich, a monthly living allowance, free housing in a furnished studio apartment in Munich as well as office space at the Munich Centre for Global History or the Käte Hamburger Research Centre. Health insurance or other social benefits are not part of the fellowship and the responsibility of the fellow. Applications will include a letter of motivation, a short outline of the research to be done during the fellowship (1-2 pages) and a CV.
