The Institute Welcomes Lerato Posholi as a New International Fellow

From April 2019 to March 2020, Lerato Posholi visits the Institute for European Global Studies and the Centre for African Studies as an International Fellow. During this time, the PhD candidate from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg (South Africa) will be working on her research on the entanglements of knowledge and power and their implications for the curriculum. The members and friends of the Institute cordially welcome her!

Lerato Posholi is currently a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Researching Education and Labour (REAL Centre) at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Her research focuses on curriculum studies, philosophy of education, epistemology and sociology of knowledge. In her PhD project, she broadly looks at knowledge and power, and the implications for curriculum. For her MA research, Lerato Posholi explored “The relationship between courage and philosophy in Plato’s Republic.”

Her fellowship at the Institute for European Global Studies and the Centre for African Studies of the University of Basel is funded by the Oumou Dilly Foundation.
