Christa Tobler Writes on Women’s Suffrage in the Blog of the Oxford Human Rights Hub
A hundred years ago, the United Kingdom took a first step in the introduction of women’s suffrage: In 1918, the British parliament passed the Representation of the People act that gave women the right to vote – at least if they were at least 30 years old and held five pounds of property. On this occasion, the Oxford Human Rights Hub publishes contributions that reflect upon the situation in other countries.
In the series’ latest article, Christa Tobler writes about the complex process of introducing women’s suffrage in Switzerland.
