Working Lunch with Julian Wettengel and Sarah Hagmann

Julian Wettengel and Sarah Hagmann were the speakers at the Institute for European Global Studies' Working Lunch on Tuesday, December 8, at 12.15 p.m. The event took place in the Auditorium.

Julian Wettengel, SNSF Fellow at the Institute for European Global Studies, spoke on the topic "Merchant Diplomats. Multinational Trading Firms and Swiss Consular Services in Asia 1860–1945". The topic of Sarah Hagmann's presentation was "Trust networks und hybrid relief operation - Meyer Birman und die Arbeit der jüdischen Hilfsorganisation HIAS-HICEM in Shanghai, 1939-1949".

The Working Lunches have been initiated by Prof. Dr. Madeleine Herren-Oesch at the Institute for European Global Studies. They serve as a platform of communication between researchers at the institute, visiting scholars and associated members.
