Working Lunch with Visiting Fellows

On Tuesday, March 15, 2014, at 12.15 pm, the Institute for European Global Studies invited to a Working Lunch with Visiting Fellows. This time, the scientific input was provided by Rainer Buschmann, Professor of History.

Rainer F. Buschmann is Professor of History at the California State University Channel Islands, USA. At Channel Islands, he was a founding faculty member of the history program. His research interests include European perceptions of the Pacific Ocean, with in-depth analyses on the global histories of the world's oceans. He holds a doctoral degree in history and a master degree in anthropology from the University of Hawaii. In 2013, he started a new project focusing on Portugal and the Pacific while serving as a Visiting Fellow in the Institute of Social Science at the University of Lisbon.

Jeremy Presthold, who was initially scheduled to speak during this event as well, had to postpone his talk to the Working Lunch on May20, 2014.

Working lunches are a new platform for communication initiated by Prof. Dr. Madeleine Herren-Oesch. They provide visiting fellows with a forum to present their research and to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
