Burkard Steppacher (KAS) and Students Visit the Institute for European Global Studies
On April 25, 2015, Prof. Dr. Burkard Steppacher and 30 of his students visited the Institute for European Global Studies. The excursion was part of the seminar “Switzerland as a Paradigmatic Case of Political Integraion. Domestic Policy – Foreign Policy – Neighbor Relations” of the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Prof. Dr. Christa Tobler presented a lecture on the topic “Switzerland and Europe – A Glance on the Legal Relations between Switzerland and the EU”, which allowed for a stimulating discussion with the students. The event focused on bilateral agreements between Switzerland and the EU, the current debate on institutional questions and the implementation of the mass immigration referendum, the initiative “Confederate Law before Public International Law”, as well as more general questions about direct democracy and Swiss-EU relations.
