The Department of History and the Institute for European Global Studies were pleased to organize a Working Lunch with Trevor Burnard and Giorgio Riello on «Commodities, Slavery & the New History of Capitalism». The Working Lunch was live-streamed via zoom on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, from 2:00-4:00pm.

Trevor Burnard is Wilberforce Professor of Slavery and Emancipation and Director of the Wilberforce Institute at the University of Hull. Giorgio Riello is Professor of Early Modern Global History at the Department of History and Civilization of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Department of History and live-streamed via zoom on April 8, 2020, from 2:00-4:00pm.

The Working Lunches are a regular event at the Institute for European Global Studies. They serve as a platform of communication between the researchers of the institute, visiting scholars and associated members.
