Corey Ross presented a lecture based on the central themes and arguments of his book "Liquid Empire: Water and Power in the Colonial World" to an interdisciplinary audience of scholars and students interested in the nature of global connections and the barriers to cross-border circulation. His talk emphasized the interplay between water and social power, the pivotal role of water control in economic development, and the enduring legacies of the colonial period. The event took place on 29 October 2025 as part of the “GlobeColloquium” lecture series, organized by the Leipzig Research Centre Global Dynamics.
