Keynote Presentation by Corey Ross at the University of Bonn
Prof. Dr. Corey Ross has given a keynote lecture entitled «Water and Power in the Age of Empire – and Beyond» at the University of Bonn. The presentation was part of the international conference «Empire & Environment. 'A Place for Stories: Nature, History, and Narrative' – reconsidered» (29.11.-30.11.), which was jointly organised by Dr. Verena Steller (Goethe University Frankfurt), Professor Christine G. Krüger (University of Bonn) and the German Association for British Studies (Arbeitskreis Großbritannien-Forschung, AGF).
Corey Ross is Director of the Institute and Professor for European Global Studies. His expertise focuses on the history of imperialism and global environmental history in the 19th and 20th centuries. His research on the socio-environmental history of Europe’s relations with the rest of the world builds on interdisciplinarity, investigates the global, transimperial and transnational circulation of ideas, goods and people, and aims to highlight perspectives that are relevant to major present-day and future challenges.
