Doctoral Colloquium: PhD Project Lab in Basel

Europainstitut

On May 6, 2022, doctoral students from the Institute for European Global Studies and the University of Bonn presented and discussed their ongoing PhD projects in front of an interdisciplinary audience. The event was part of the Katekisama Program which is implemented by the two universities.

The research projects analyzed the impacts of emotions on the Chinese Communist Party’s legitimacy as well as the role of the British Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland from 1920 – 1950. Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers as well as professors of the research areas Global History of Europe, European Global Knowledge Production and Transnational Law and Statehood participated in the event. They were joined by a speaker from the University of Bonn who took the opportunity to present his PhD project in front of an interdisciplinary audience.

The PhD Project Lab is part of an increasing number of Katekisama Courses, offered by the University of Bonn and the University of Basel, which are open to participants from both universities and which provide a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary exchange by using innovative elements of blended mobility in the context of the Katekisama Program.
