Ralph Weber gave a talk titled "Confucianism as Religion and as Pre-Comparative Tertium: On the Possibility and Limits of Comparison". His presentation was part of the conference "Comparison and Comparative Theology," held from 5-7 October 2023 and was organized by the University of Fribourg. In this talk, he explores comparativism from the perspective of a philosophy of comparison, using Confucianism as an example.

Ralph Weber is Associate Professor of European Global Studies at the Institute for European Global Studies. He specializes in Political Theory, Chinese Politics, and modern Confucianism. Currently, he is the President of the European Association for Chinese Philosophy and the Chair of the Section on Political Theory in the Swiss Political Science Association.
