Dr. Silvana Târlea participated in the 29th International Conference of Europeanists organized by the Council of European Studies (CES) in Reykjavik June 27-29.

She presented a paper co-authored with Prof. Ralph Weber on "The study of Europe in China" and a paper on her new project on the "Invocation of the past in debates about international openness". The keynote lecture discussed nationalism in Europe and it was delivered by the President of Iceland, Guðni Th. Jóhannesson.

Silvana Târlea is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for European Global Studies and in the political science department. Her newest project analyzes the invocation of the past in debates about international openness.
