In the spring semester 2020, the Institute for European Global Studies offers a lecture series that focuses on China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The lectures will be given by experts from different fields, including academics, policy advisors, and economic consultants. They take place on Wednesdays, 6:15-7:45pm, at the Institute (Lecture Hall 00.015).

The seven sessions of the lecture series offer insights into different aspects of the Chinese global development strategy known as «Belt and Road Initiative». Remo Reginold (Swiss Institute for Global Affairs in Bern), for instance, focuses on China’s hidden silk roads. Markus Herrmann (Sinolytics, Berlin and Zurich) speaks about European Companies and the Belt and Road Initiative. Eva Pils (King’s College London) explores China’s impact on the international rule of law. And Benno Zogg (ETH Zurich) takes a look at Russia as one of China's indispensible partners in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The lecture series is organized by the Institute for European Global Studies upon the initiative of Madeleine Herren-Oesch and Ralph Weber. It takes place on Wednesdays, 6:15-7:45pm, at the Institute for European Global Studies (Hörsaal 00.015).
