International Organizations During World War II: Keynote by Madeleine Herren
Prof. Dr. Madeleine Herren has held a keynote lecture at a University of Bremen conference on the "Communication history of International Organizations and NGOs". Her talk was titled "The effectiveness of the invisible: Communication and International Organizations during World War II". The conference took place virtually from April 22 to 23, 2021.
The conference was organised by the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen, the division for the history of communication of the German Communication Association (DGPuK), the Institute for Newspaper Research, Dortmund, and the Association for the Promotion of Newspaper Research Dortmund.
Madeleine Herren-Oesch is Professor of Modern History and the Director of the Institute for European Global Studies. While her fields of expertise cover 19th and 20th century history, her historiographical approach examines history through its strong connections to the contemporary world in its multilayered, global dimensions.
